Back in early 2017, I photographed Zhen. He was the first gay man that I ever photographed in an intimate lifestyle setting.
Fast forward, almost two years later (well, not exactly, but close to two years), Zhen has a plus one – Greg. And they decided to bring me back to do a photo session.
To be honest, I don’t really have a whole lot of experience photographing couple intimate lifestyle session, except that one time, which was completely out of my comfort zone and I did push boundary. Doing it the second time, with a same sex couple, the dynamic was slightly differently.
The keywords given to me were – dimly lit and moody. With Greg being a lot calming and sensual, while Zhen being a lot more intense and high sexual energy, the key was to find a balance between both of them, while featuring the intimate love and romance.
While most of my work are always vibrant with colours, for this specific collection, I’ve decided to strip it down to black and white, simply because that is how I strongly feel recently.
